UMPIRES - New FILLABLE Umpire Ejection/Incident Report now available
To help facilitate better timing and submission of Ejection Reports, we have created a new fillable PDF Umpire Ejection Report form that will allow you to fill out the form following the game on your computer, save the file, and then submit it to actdirlegion@windstream.net as an attachment to your email.  No more handwriting the form and mailing/faxing it in...unless of course, that is your preference!  Thanks HP!

  • Umpire deadline: applying for state is May 21, 2012 and applying for area and regular season is June 18, 2012.

  • Regular season games will use a minimum of one Registered Nebraska Legion Umpire.

  •      Starting the 2013 Season all umpires for regular season must be registered and certified.

  • All post season umpires will be required to be registered and certified Nebraska Legion Umpires.

  • All tournament umpires (Area and State) shall be certified by Department Headquarters. To be certified you must attended an annual American Legion sponsored umpire clinic / rules meeting and complete the Umpire test before working any tournament games. Part 2 exam is only given at the rules meeting and must be signed by a Liaison Umpire.

  • To be considered for an assignment to work STATE  tournaments, an umpire must be registered and certified; has been an American Legion Umpire a minimum of five (5) years; and has umpired Area tournaments for at least three (3) years. The Department Athletic Committee will hire the State umpires at the June 2, 2012 meeting. Only certified umpires will be selected for State.

  • It is recommended that an Umpire Resume be attached to the Application for Certification for experienced Umpires who are interested in working Area and State Tournaments.

  • It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that ALL UMPIRES attend one of the Clinics/Rules Meetings held around the State.

  • After the first year of registration, all umpire patches must be purchased. These are available at department headquarters for $2.00 plus tax.

  • Umpires requesting State Tournament assignment should forward a copy (if any) of their scheduled games for high school, college and Legion games with their Certification Application
