In accordance with NALB Rule 8.02 TOURNAMENT UMPIRES: All tournament umpires must be registered with the NALB and work a minimum of 15 games per season and be in good standings with the NALB Athletic and Umpire Committees.
(a) AREA TOURNAMENTS: The NALB Umpire Committee will be responsible for approving all umpires participating in an Area Tournament. Tournament Directors are responsible for paying game fees and any additional fees directly related to the umpire. It is the responsibility of the TD and UIC to set the umpire schedule.
(b) STATE TOURNAMENT: Each State tournament will have 6 full-time umpires available with a minimum of 3 umpires per game. The Department Athletic Committee will pay umpires and reimburse mileage at the rate of $0.30 cents a mile and up to a max cap of $75 per night for hotel (only if 100 miles away from site). The UIC must work directly with their Area Umpire Representative to ensure proper assignment for each game.
